As with every time I've been to an optometrist I feel like I've been railroaded. Though to be fair, this time I needed multifocals. Spent $200 more than budgeted. Getting old is expensive.

@tregeagle No more ten-hour shifts for the foreseeable, but I still spend at least a few hours a day showing customers round empty shelves where any products even remotely connected with hygiene used to be found. People are thinking laterally now, asking for rubbing alcohol, glycerine (for home made hand sanitiser), etc.

Been delaying a haircut for months. Now sporting an Alain de Botton on the top, but a grey, wiry Farrah Fawcett at the back and sides. It rather suits me, but I have to get it cut anyway. In a few months, everybody in #Toormina will be wearing their hair like that. It's a burden being a trendsetter.

#SocialDistancingTips: Fill in the gaps in your musical knowledge. I am bingeing on #TalkingHeads, who I've never seriously listened to. I loved the film True Stories on VHS weekly rental as a kid. And (heresy alert!) I preferred the Chris-and-Tina-produced Happy Mondays album ...Yes Please!

Been #watching #Avenue5 S01E08. Breathtaking sketch of individualistic entitlement culture hitting reality and reality hitting back. It's almost like a metaphor for something. Can't quite put my finger on it. Been in the news a bit lately.
