@tregeagle I'm beginning to think that when every organisation with your phone number, from your superannuation fund to your cat's vet, misuses SMS to send you daily updates on their #covid19 preparedness, foul-mouthed abuse is an entirely appropriate response. No context or explanation: Not "F**k off, I was sleeping", or "F**k off, I was expecting something important", or "F**k off, that is what email is for".

Need to stay awake because shifts starting at 1am are a thing now at #work, and I have one in a couple of days, so I must recalibrate. Don't have a good track record with night work. Thankfully F-bomb Freddy at the far end of the landing and Pinky Tuscadero downstairs are engaged in a stereo war tonight. It's Total Eclipse of the Heart versus some generic heavy metal at the moment. Ordinarily I'd be annoyed, but since you can't get pseudoephedrine over the counter any more I'll take this instead.

As with every time I've been to an optometrist I feel like I've been railroaded. Though to be fair, this time I needed multifocals. Spent $200 more than budgeted. Getting old is expensive.

@tregeagle No more ten-hour shifts for the foreseeable, but I still spend at least a few hours a day showing customers round empty shelves where any products even remotely connected with hygiene used to be found. People are thinking laterally now, asking for rubbing alcohol, glycerine (for home made hand sanitiser), etc.

Been delaying a haircut for months. Now sporting an Alain de Botton on the top, but a grey, wiry Farrah Fawcett at the back and sides. It rather suits me, but I have to get it cut anyway. In a few months, everybody in #Toormina will be wearing their hair like that. It's a burden being a trendsetter.
