I have no problem in principle with Internet/distance #edu as an alternative to face-to-face. The problems arise when you try to implement the two as different modes of the same course. Limiting each to the intersection of what is possible in both substantially devalues both.

The laziness and half-arsedness of job recruiters is astonishing. Geolocation is a solved problems. Having the option to search 'NSW - Sydney' or 'NSW - other' doesn't sufficiently help those of us in 'NSW - other'.

One thought about the (unwarranted IMHO) fears about the rise of the robots: Technology produces better tools. If we worry about technology soon replacing workers, we should also worry about how we currently think about workers.

@pvs Ev's employer calls it "pizza", but consider: they only hire kids; & what is the one thing kids can not only cook, but entirely subsist on for weeks on end? Grilled cheese on toast. Round, unleavened bread & an enterprise-grade griller are the only significant differences.
