@tregeagle Yes, I far prefer the intellectual rollercoaster to the emotional one. All the exhilaration, but far less of the unnecessary. Working afternoons till Friday and free all weekend if you can extricate yourself from your many entanglements. Plenty of drinking establishments in #Sawtell serving indistinguishable varieties of lager. BYO flavour.

@tregeagle Woah. That is black magic. I like it. I don't think it could handle an #AU intercity train, though. You'll need a short wave radio modem for that. If it weren't for desperate smokers holding up the train at every station, you couldn't SMS until you reached your destination.

I had no idea the legal BAC limit in the #US was 0.08%; it's been 0.05% in #AU as long as I can remember. Create a car-centric culture without practical public transport options, and you create a culture where drinking in public is limited to a ghastly, miserable once-a-week binge in order to justify the taxi fares.

I have lots of sysadmin things to do on a rare day off, and it makes me sad. So I'm #reading instead, which makes me guilty. My wife will eventually return home from work, the prospect of which makes me frightened. Nothing ever happens, but it's an emotional fecking rollercoaster round here mate. Stone me!

I miss #ethernet. As a renter, it meant blue cable trailing all through the house, but I miss being able to SSH into the computer in the next room and have my keystrokes echoed instantly, rather than with a 10 second lag. #WiFi sucks.
