Israeli AI ‘using WhatsApp data’ to target Gaza families for bomb strikes

‘Lavender’ AI set to prioritise hitting targets at home with their families and is said to be using WhatsApp data for its process – but how is Israel getting hold of it?

Israel’s AI system for targeting people for murder in Gaza uses WhatsApp data among its targeting criteria, according to a report in the Israeli 972 magazine and analysis by Paul Biggar of Tech for Palestine.

The platform is marketed as encrypted ‘end to end’, supposedly offering complete security, and WhatsApp told Middle East Monitor that:

WhatsApp has no backdoors and we do not provide bulk information to any government. For over a decade, Meta has provided consistent transparency reports and those include the limited circumstances when WhatsApp information has been requested. Our principles are firm – we carefully review, validate and respond to law enforcement requests based on applicable law and consistent with internationally recognized standards, including human rights.

However, a 2021 Freedom of Information Request to the FBI revealed that WhatsApp’s owner provides ‘near real-time’ information to US authorities – not the content of messages in most cases, but of who is sending and receiving messages:

WhatsApp will produce certain user metadata, though not actual message content, every 15 minutes in response to a pen register [a special type of federal request], the FBI says. The FBI guide explains that most messaging services do not or cannot do this and instead provide data with a lag and not in anything close to real time: “Return data provided by the companies listed below, with the exception of WhatsApp, are actually logs of latent data that are provided to law enforcement in a non-real-time manner and may impact investigations due to delivery delays.”

This potentially fits with reports in Israeli media that Israel is using an artificial intelligence platform named ‘Lavender’ to identify thousands of human targets in Gaza and flag them for an airstrike, with WhatsApp data forming a key part of the AI’s decision process, based on the WhatsApp connections of supposed ‘militants’ – and that the system is designed to kill large numbers of civilians. One source told 972 that when Lavender identifies a target, Israeli forces:

bombed them in homes without hesitation, as a first option. It’s much easier to bomb a family’s home. The system is built to look for them in these situations.

But of course, people are in WhatsApp groups of all kinds of topics and for all kind of reasons – and merely being in a group which has a ‘militant’ member is no guarantee of any kind of ‘guilt’ – even if the right to resist occupation is disregarded, as Israel, the US and UK do.

This pattern raises the possibility that Israel is obtaining WhatsApp data, whether directly or from the US government. Another possibility is that Israel is accessing the data through the notorious ‘Pegasus’ hacking programme that has been shown to target WhatsApp users, hijacking their phones through WhatsApp even, in the later Pegasus versions, if they don’t open any suspicious links. Journalists, politicians, human rights activists and others are known to have been hacked by governments using the software, including its use by the Saudis against dissident Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

So serious was the issue that in 2021 tech firm Apple sued NSO, the maker of Pegasus, for targeting Apple users. NSO claimed that the software is used only against ‘terrorists’ – as which Israel, the UK, US and some others have designated Palestinian resistance groups – but there is clearly no guarantee that the definition of ‘terrorist’ is not extended in practice to anyone targeted by Israel. Biggar has accused WhatsApp’s owners of breaking international law and violating human rights.

Facebook, which belongs to the same Meta parent group as WhatsApp, has been accused of shutting down the circulation of pro-Palestinian and anti-Zionist posts and treating the term ‘Zionist’ as hate speech. In 2020, the company admitted changing its algorithms to filter out left-wing news and analysis from users’ feeds while allowing right-wing propaganda to flow unchecked.

However Israel is accessing the WhatsApp data it is said to be using to target Palestinians and their families, undoubtedly a war crime, the news that it is doing so is a warning for those who dissent from Establishment narratives and use ‘private’ messaging services to do so.

Meta continued its statement to Middle East Monitor:

Our principles are firm – we carefully review, validate and respond to law enforcement requests based on applicable law and consistent with internationally recognized standards, including human rights.

The US and UK governments, however, continue to insist that Israel is following international law and recognised human rights standards, even as it murders tens of thousands of civilians, mostly women and children.

Royal College of GPs deletes article exposing lack of supervision of ‘PA’ not-doctors

Published by Anonymous (not verified) on Tue, 20/02/2024 - 11:36am in

RCGP has been equivocal about government’s changes to use of ‘associates’ without medical training to treat patients

The Royal College of GPs has deleted an article that detailed the extent of the lack of supervision by fully-qualified doctors over the actions and decisions of the ‘physician associate’ (PA) roles – who have only two years’ training – whose use the government is expanding.

The use of PAs, which is considered by ninety percent of doctors to be dangerous to patients and confuses many patients, who do not realise that they have not been seen and treated by a fully-qualified medic, is being pushed by the government as a way of ‘downskilling’ the NHS, reducing costs and allowing increased profits for private providers, under the guise of the so-called ‘NHS Workforce Plan’ as part of the ‘Integrated Care Systems’ (ICS) project.

ICS, formerly called ‘Accountable Care Organisations’ (ACOs) after the US system it copied, were renamed after awareness began to spread that ACOs were a system for withholding care from patients and that care providers were incentivised to cut care because they receive a share of the ‘savings’. The system remained the same, but the rebranding disguised the reality.

Now, as Pulse magazine has revealed, the RCGP has deleted a case study that revealed a shocking lack and laxity in the supervision of a PA:

According to the now-deleted case study, held a ‘minimum’ of 27 10-minute appointments each day and asked the on-call doctor to review patients for an ‘urgent opinion’ only ‘once every two to three months’

…After screenshots circulated on social media, the RCGP removed the case study at the PA’s request…

…The case study previously said: ‘[The PA] has three, ten-minute appointment slots in a row, and at the end of those slots has a ten-minute break for administration and including having prescriptions signed by a GP.’

It said supervision is ‘shared’ between GPs working at the practice, and that for ‘non-urgent concerns’ there is a ‘ten minute debrief with an on-call doctor’ which takes place every two to three weeks.

Matt Kneale, co-chair of the Doctors’ Association UK which along with the British Medical Association is opposing the changes, said:

Much of the concern from doctors in recent months has built up from a lack of transparency from Royal Colleges about where they stand on physician associates.

While we are grateful that the RCGP has removed what can, at best, be described as unprofessional practice, we maintain that the College needs to sit down with wider stakeholders on the concerns around PA roles and scope more generally.

The RCGP has voiced ‘concerns’ about the new system, but has not formally opposed it, despite the outrage of doctors and the increasing examples of companies hiring PAs instead of doctors and even making doctors redundant to switch to PAs.

The government’s expansion and renaming of these roles, along with backdoor to regulate them via the General Medical Council (GMC), which regulates doctors – is part of what experts call ‘scope creep’: physician’s assistants and anaesthetist’s assistants, as they were originally called, are valuable roles in carefully limited settings, but NHS England, the government body appointed to run (and run down) the NHS has been using them way beyond their original scope, for example even to perform some types of brain surgery and expecting them to ‘learn on the job’.

The government used a ‘statutory instrument’ to pass these changes, avoiding proper parliamentary scrutiny, but both the Tories and Keir Starmer’s Labour support these and other measures to cheapen the NHS for private involvement and only independent MP Claudia Webbe spoke against them during the brief debate. Green peer Natalie Bennett has tabled a motion in the House of Lords in an attempt to kill the instrument, but without support from the notional ‘opposition’, it is unlikely to succeed.

During the Statutory Instrument debate, Tory former Health Secretary Therese Coffey gushed about the potential for using three associates to anaesthetise patients during operations, with just a single consultant anaesthetist monitoring remotely as an ‘efficiency’.

At least two people have already died avoidably because of misdiagnosis by PAs. Emily Chesterton, 30, who didn’t realise she wasn’t seeing a doctor, was treated for a calf strain when she had a deep vein thrombosis that led to a lethal embolism. Ben Peters, 25, was sent home from A&E with a ‘panic attack’ that was really a serious heart condition.

Garston residents launch fight against ‘time-bomb’ that threatens whole of South Liverpool

Published by Anonymous (not verified) on Mon, 05/02/2024 - 11:30am in

Chemical processing plant will process greater volume in Liverpool than caused one of biggest non-nuclear explosions history

A 5-mile radius from Veolia’s Garston waste chemical processing works – the 1974 Flixborough disaster, which had a 3-mile radius had a far lower volume

Residents have begun their fight against a plan to process at least 56,000 tonnes a year of toxic and highly hazardous chemical waste next to homes in south Liverpool.

Garston and Grassendale residents have engaged lawyers in their bid to stop a dangerous facility that threatens whole of South Liverpool. Liverpool City Council’s Planning Committee has granted permission for a controversial hazardous waste facility to process the same chemicals that caused the 1974 Flixborough disaster, which caused one of the biggest non-nuclear explosions in history.

The plans, by waste giant Veolia UK, would result in a massive expansion of the volume of highly toxic and explosive waste being processed at the facility in King St, Garston, only metres from established residential communities and 200m from a primary school.

The chemicals processed are the same – but in far larger quantities – as those involved in the infamous 1974 explosion in rural Flixborough, which killed 28 people and damaged buildings three miles away, and would have killed far more had the disaster not happened on a weekend night. A key recommendation of the inquiry into the Flixborough disaster was not to build such facilities near residential areas.

A previously approved scheme of 28,000 tonnes along with the recent plans for a further 28,000 tonnes will total 56,000 tonnes a year when both plants are operational to process solvent recovery – with a large amount of this chemical waste imported from abroad. Campaigners believe these plans contravene the National Planning Policy Framework, which requires ministerial oversight for volumes of 30,000 tonnes or more. Ultimately the site would process as much as 96,000 tonnes a year, according to campaigners.

Spokesperson for the Garston United community group, Gary Woollam said:

We are deeply concerned about the impact of this massive intensification of a hazardous waste processing activity in the heart of our community. Amongst the materials being processed on this site is Cyclohexanone, the chemical responsible for the tragic 1974 Flixborough disaster.

Cyclohexanone is only one of the cocktail of hazardous and highly flammable chemicals that are processed by Veolia in Garston along with Isopropanol, Ethanol and Methanol. Concerns about the potential risks and health impacts of
the proposed facility have now spread to other nearby communities, with residents in the Grassendale & Cressington area opposing the plans and pledging to support a legal challenge.

Local activist and campaigner Sylvia McCleod said:

Residents across the area are angry at the way that the applicant and the city council have failed to engage with and consult the community. It looks like they were trying to get this through under the radar with minimum objections and minimum scrutiny. It is absolutely outrageous that Veolia’s first application was approved under delegated powers without it even being considered by Councillors.

Residents from local communities have come together to form the L19 Action Group, and have already secured funds to instruct a leading UK environmental and planning law firm, Richard Buxton Solicitors. They believe that evidence that the Council failed to adequately consult on the application, or subject it to the required level of environmental scrutiny, form the basis of a successful legal challenge.

Skwawkbox editor Steve Walker, who lives locally, said:

The most astonishing thing about the council’s planning meeting, which seemed
to reach a foregone conclusion of approving the scheme, is that there was no
discussion at all about the explosive risk. Flixborough’s blast radius was
three miles and they said not to build such plants near people. With the far larger
quantities they want to process in Garston, at least the whole south of the city
will be in danger, as well as the risk of the wind carrying leaked toxins for miles
further.”

A large explosion last November at a similar chemical recycling plant in Shepherd, Texas, led to police imposing a five-mile ‘shelter in place’ order because of the ‘acute toxicity’ of substances it released into the air.

Campaigners have already covered the first tranche of legal costs and have launched a crowdfund to help cover further expenditure.

Palestine Action activist remanded to prison after Stock Exchange arrests

Anti-war activist Sean Middleborough

Palestine Action activist Sean Middleborough was remanded to prison yesterday following his arrest on Sunday morning over an alleged plan to disrupt business at the London Stock Exchange (LSE), charged with ‘conspiracy to commit public nuisance’ under the draconian Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022, after appearing at Wirral Magistrates Court. Five other activists were released from police custody without charges pending further investigation.

On his way into the custody van, Middlebrough was heard to shout “Free Palestine”. Lawyers will be submitting an application for immediate granting of bail.

Middleborough and five other activists are accused of having planned to blockade the LSE, which through its trading in bonds and shares plays a significant role in facilitating the occupation of Palestine. The LSE has raised over over £4.73 billion in bond sales for the apartheid state of Israel in the past six years. The exchange describes itself as “a key partner to Israeli businesses, by enabling them to raise capital internationally” and trades shares in weapons manufacturers arming Israel’s regime.

A meeting on 8 February 2022 between UK government and Israeli investors, which included representatives from Israeli weapons companies Elbit Systems and Rafael, noted that “The London Stock Exchange has a strong and important relationship with Israel”. This includes the LSE holding capital market conferences in Israel and hosting Israeli business on the exchange with a combined market capital of $14.7 billion.

The arrests came after a Daily Express ‘journalist’ spied on the group in order to report on activities and hand information on alleged plans to the police. Most of the UK press and broadcast media have ignored Israel’s crimes and worked to manufacture consent for its ongoing genocide of Palestinians, which so far has killed almost 32,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, according to the latest Euro-Med Monitor report. If failing to report even the basic facts of Israel’s crimes – including against its own people on 7 October – wasn’t bad enough, ‘reporters’ have now gone as far as acting on behalf of the state to criminalise direct action movement opposing Israel’s war crimes.

The UK state has been taking ever more draconian measures to try to punish and deter activists who stand on the side of humanity and against genocide. Numerous activists seeking an end to bloodshed have found themselves detained by the British state and often charged, with varying levels of state success. Palestine Action has stated repeatedly that it will not be diverted from the struggle for Palestinian liberation and the ending of all UK arms production and shipments to apartheid Israel.

Unite activists sign letter to Graham after ban on union banners at Palestine demos

Alleged management ban on exec members marching under Unite banners leads to angry letter denouncing lack of action and solidarity with slaughtered Gazans

Unite banners at a Manchester Gaza demo – but executive members say they have been banned from formal representation

Unite members and activists have issued an outraged letter to union general secretary Sharon Graham, after members of the elected executive were told not to attend, under a Unite banner, demonstrations against Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

The letter reads:

Dear Sharon Graham,

As a result of our letters of 30 October and 1 November and other representations, including from London and Eastern Region, you finally agreed, after nearly 4 weeks of an ongoing genocide by Israel, to issue a statement on November 3 calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The statement was however pitiably weak. There was no mention of genocide or ethnic cleansing. There was no mention of the war crimes perpetrated by Israel – the bombing of hospitals, the targeting and murder of journalists, academics and doctors to say nothing of the bombing of residential areas or the murder of children, which now stands at over 8,000.

There was no mention of the fact that Israel has imposed a food, water and fuel blockade on the Gaza strip resulting in starvation according to the United Nations. Collective punishment of a civilian population is a egregious breach of international law yet the statement treats the Palestinians and the Israeli state as equally responsible.

It is not Hamas which possesses an air force but Israel. It is the Israeli state which is carrying out the carpet bombing of Gaza with the intent of forcing Palestinians out altogether.

The statement treats the genocidal attack on the people of Gaza as equivalent to the break-out from the world’s largest open air prison on October 7. Israel has occupied the Gaza Strip for 56 years imposing a suffocating siege on it since 2007.

This report from Vatican News of 16 December gives just one example of Israel’s war crimes:

‘Israelis have opened fire on Gaza’s Christians. Following heavy bombardment overnight of the area around Holy Family Latin parish in Gaza City, dozens are reported dead… and reports continue to arrive that shooting by Israeli snipers continues during these hours. A statement released by the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem confirmed that an Israeli sniper murdered two Christian women inside the Holy Family Parish where the majority of Christian families have taken refuge since the start of the war.’

An even more horrifying massacre took place on 17 December. Al Jazeera reported that Israeli bulldozers have crushed Palestinians who were taking shelter in tents outside Kamal Adwan Hospital.

Dozens of Palestinians are reported to have been buried alive. These are Nazi-style massacres and yet you have said nothing and done nothing since issuing your statement. You were happy to wave the Ukrainian flag but you haven’t waved the Palestinian flag or expressed any sympathy with the thousands of murdered Palestinian civilians, not least children.

UN Secretary General António Guterres accepted that there was a context to October 7. Many Israeli civilians died at the hands of the Israeli military. See Israeli forces shot their own civilians, kibbutz survivor says.

Unite at its 2023 Policy Conference passed motions supporting Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions and affirmed that Israel is practising the crime of apartheid. That should have informed Unite’s statement.

The statement treats one of the world’s most powerful militaries and the resistance of the Palestinians as equal. Your claim that Israel’s goal is to eliminate Hamas is untrue. Why bomb homes, schools and ambulances if this was the case? Were the dead children also Hamas ‘terrorists’?

The statement says nothing about what Unite intends to do. You have done nothing to publicise all the previous national demonstrations. Are you going to ignore the one on January 13 too? There has been no national Unite presence on the marches to date.

We demand that you publicise all future demonstration, that you provide the resources necessary for Unite members to attend, that Unite nationally is present on the march together with its banner and that Unite has a speaker at the rally.

A leaked Israeli intelligence document makes it clear that Israel’s intention is to repeat the Nakba in 1948 when ¾ million Palestinians were expelled.

If Israel succeeds this will be a prelude to ethnic cleansing on the West Bank where there has been a reign of terror in the past 6 months. Over 250 people have died since October 7. Vast areas of Area C have been ‘cleansed’ as Israeli settlers and the army attack farmers.None of this is recognised in your statement. Netanyahu has compared the Palestinians to ‘Amalek’ whom God instructed the Israelites to exterminate yet Unite’s statement ignores this. Open calls in Israel for the extermination of the Palestinians are being made and Israel’s army is doing just that.

By blocking fuel, babies on incubators and people on dialysis machines have already died.

It is time for Unite to show that the situation in Gaza is an urgent one and to mobilise its members. We give the Labour Party over £1m a year. We should be demanding that Keir Starmer makes way for someone who is not a ‘Zionist without qualification’. At the moment he is nothing more than Sunak’s echo chamber.

Yours sincerely

Sharon Graham had already infuriated supporters of Palestinian rights by remaining silent for many weeks at the start of Israel’s latest genocidal assault on Gaza – then making a grossly asymmetrical statement appearing to treat Israeli deaths more seriously than Palestinian and allegedly having the exec railroaded into accepting only her preferred wording when the statement was eventually issued.

Graham was also exposed using proxies to order the cancellation of showings of the film ‘Oh Jeremy Corbyn/The Big Lie’, which exposes the political abuse of antisemitism accusations against left-wingers in the Labour party, and discussion of Asa Winstanley’s forensic book Weaponising Antisemitism: How the Israel Lobby Brought Down Jeremy Corbyn. Proxies were similarly despatched to try, unsuccessfully, to cancel a Unite ‘fringe’ event at Labour’s conference earlier this month in support of Palestinians.

At the time of writing, the letter is still open for Unite members to add their signature via Google Docs. It will be submitted shortly after new year.

Video: Ukraine ambassador – Ukraine had agreed peace deal with Russia

Deal in spring 2022 scuppered by US and UK

Oleksandr Chalyi, left, at the GCSP event

The Ukraine war could have been ended more than a year and a half ago, according to a senior Ukrainian peace negotiator – and the deal had the personal approval of Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Ambassador Oleksandr Chalyi told a Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) event that the deal was ‘concluded’, but was postponed ‘for some reason’:

As Canadian journalist Aaron Maté has pointed out, another top Ukrainian peace negotiator has said that the UK and US prevented the agreement being put in place because they did not want Ukraine to agree to neutrality. All the many thousands of lives lost since could have been saved, as well as the huge financial cost of continuing the war, which has been used by the Ukrainian regime to ban opposition parties and take over Ukraine’s newspapers and broadcasters.

Canadian political scientist Ivan Katchanovski responded to the revelation:

Wow! Ukraine Ambassador Chalyi, who participated in peace talks with Russia in Spring 2022, states that “we concluded” “Istanbul Communique” & “were very close in… April to finalize our war with some peaceful settlement” & that Putin “tried everything possible to conclude agreement with Ukraine.”

He says that it was Putin’s “personal decision to accept the text of this communique.” Such peace deal framework to end war was also confirmed by head of Ukrainian delegation, officials close to Zelensky, ex-Israeli PM, ex-German chancellor, Putin, Turkish FM, former US officials & Arestovych. First five stated that deal was blocked by US/UK.

‘Israel is losing war’ says ex-Israeli adviser – as IDF ‘hides mass military casualties’

Published by Anonymous (not verified) on Wed, 13/12/2023 - 10:59am in

‘Considerable and unexplained gap’ between admitted casualties and hospital records of severely wounded soldiers at least double acknowledged number

Image: IDF

A former Israeli prime ministerial adviser has said that Israel is losing its war against Hamas – and hospital records suggest the Israeli government and military are hiding at least half of the number of Israeli soldiers killed and injured in Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

In an article for US site The Nation, Daniel Levy – who advised then-Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak – compares the situation in Gaza to the unwinnable US war in Vietnam, where unacceptable casualty levels among US soldiers meant the Viet Cong only had to survive to win, and writes:

It may sound daft to suggest that a group of armed irregulars, numbering in the low tens of thousands, besieged and with little access to advanced weaponry, is a match for one of the world’s most powerful militaries, backed and armed by the United States. And yet, an increasing number of establishment strategic analysts warn that Israel could lose this war on Palestinians despite the cataclysmic violence it unleashed

Levy also notes that the ‘delusion’ that Israel’s conduct did not contribute to the 7 October attack is being exposed and having serious consequences for Israel and its US backers:

the delusion that Israel was just another Western nation peacefully going about its business before it suffered an unprovoked attack on October 7—it’s a comforting fantasy to those who prefer to avoid recognizing a reality they’ve been complicit in creating.

And at the same time, US news site Breaking Point has highlighted studies by Israeli media of Israeli hospital data – and sudden reductions in the official casualty numbers posted on the IDF’s website – to conclude that the real casualty rate inflicted on IDF forces by Hamas’s guerilla tactics are at least twice as high as the Netanyahu government is admitted and that among the wounded there are high rates of severe injuries consistent with videos released by Hamas of grenade and rocket-propelled grenade ambushes on Israeli tanks and infantry:

Breaking Point considers that this high rate of attrition, and a lack of appetite among the Israeli public for casualties in the military, may be driving Israeli efforts to get the US to commit troops as a ‘peacekeeping’ force.

Israel says it will pursue Gazan Palestinians on Lebanese, Turkish and Qatari territory

Israeli security service director’s threat on Israeli national TV

The director of Israel’s domestic security service, the Shin Bet, has said that the Israeli government intends to pursue Palestinian resistance activists outside Palestine – specifically threatening Turkey and Qatar.

Speaking to Kan, Israel’s national broadcaster, and reported by Israeli paper Haaretz, Ronen Bar compared the 7 October kibbutz raid to the 1972 massacre of Israeli athletes, saying:

This is our Munich. Everywhere – in Gaza, in the Palestinian territories, in Lebanon, in Turkey, and in Qatar. It will take us a few years, but we will be there to do it… we are drawing our lessons from the events and are already passing them on to other arenas, not just in the Gaza Strip…

the scope of threats facing the State of Israel is unprecedented in the past year, even before these
events. Even in this case, the main thing is hidden from the eye. There are many things brewing beneath the surface.

As well as constituting an open threat to the sovereignty of three nations, Bar’s comments are exposed as a farce by the fact that Israel knew what Hamas was planning at least a year before the kibbutz raid and did nothing – and that a growing mountain of evidence now shows that the bulk of Israeli casualties during the raid were caused by the Israeli military firing on buildings and vehicles that contained Israeli citizens, and at people on foot that pilots and tank commanders did not pause to identify before destroying.

Despite the mounting evidence, UK and western media have refused to cover the fact of Israeli ‘friendly fire’ under the military’s ‘Hannibal doctrine‘, as it would fatally undermine Israel’s attempts to justify its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.

War criminal Kissinger, one of history’s biggest mass murderers, dead at 100

Right-wing friend of dictators and murderers, whose orders killed millions, has died

Henry Kissinger, adviser to two presidents and betrayer of another, is dead at the age of one hundred.

A war criminal responsible for the US carpet-bombing of neutral Cambodia – personally selecting targets – that led to the Pol Pot genocide, the fall of democratically-elected left-wing president Allende and his replacement with mass-murder Augusto Pinochet, Indonesia’s genocide in East Timor, Pakistan’s slaughter in Bangladesh, and who played a key role in the passing of information from the Democrat US president Lyndon Johnson’s camp to Richard Nixon, causing a delay of years in the end of the Vietnam war – and a string of other war crimes and mass slaughters, Kissinger and his hate and fear of the left was responsible for the deaths of at least three million people, according to his biographer.

He will be lamented only by his family and by lovers of imperialism and racism – which means that the tributes will be pouring from both sides of the house in the US and UK, and no doubt from the Israeli regime and its supporters.

Israeli police admit rave-goers shot by IDF helicopter

Earlier reports confirmed by police finding

An official Israeli police investigation has confirmed that Israelis attending a rave on 7 October were shot by an Israeli Defence Force (IDF) helicopter – confirming reports from Israeli witnesses, media and security personnel.

According to Haaretz – which had previously condemned those reporting the testimonies of killings by Israeli forces as conspiracy theorists – investigators concluded that a helicopter ‘also hit some festival participants’, but without confirming the number:

According to a police source, the investigation also shows that an IDF combat helicopter that arrived to the scene and fired at terrorists there apparently also hit some festival participants.

Last week, Netanyahu adviser Mark Regev inadvertently admitted that Israeli forces were responsible for at least some of the 7 October deaths were caused by Israeli forces when he said that two hundred of the burned bodies that had been included among the Israeli dead were in fact Hamas fighters – Hamas clearly did not incinerate its own and does not have weapons capable of burning bodies to a crisp in moments.

Israeli survivors of the attack have also told Israeli media that the Hamas operatives were kind and polite but that Israeli forces fired indiscriminately and killed many hostages. A senior Israeli pilot also told Haaretz that the mass killing of Israelis was a ‘mass Hannibal’ – referring to the Israeli doctrine of killing everyone, including Israelis, to prevent a hostage situation. Col Nof Erez said that he and other military pilots had been training for Hannibal responses for the last twenty years – the doctrine was officially abandoned in 2008.
