@tregeagle I never shut down any of my services. I may never use them, or occasionally inadvertently break them, but never deliberately shut them down, thus ensuring that my maintenance burden can only increase over time.

Also the Great #PHP Stagnation was due more to crappy shared hosting providers failure to upgrade than lack of competition. #Drupal was quicker to drop legacy PHP4 support than #WordPress, IIRC.
