@luke Not in #Sydney. The current light rail system carries virtually nobody, at great expense, from one shonky property development to another (casino, conference centre, tourist trap, etc.). The old trams (before my time) went everywhere. http://ur1.ca/o0k7g

I think we should try to recuperate the word "tram". I know "light rail" is only one extra syllable, but it sounds silly. An unnecessary euphemism from the 1980s that is now hardly any less old-fashioned than the word it replaced. #pedantry
