Tried listening to podcasts out in the garden. Had to give up and, on returning indoors, slapped myself around the torso a bit and jostled my shirt to let the dead bugs drop out. Good thing I was doused in insect repellant.

It's like being in Plato's Cave here in the Colorbond open air prison. You hear all sorts of fearsome mechanical sounds, but all you ever see is hats protruding above the fence, so naturally one assumes the noises are somehow all about the hats. It is the job of the #Sawtell philosopher to lead their peers out of their cells and awaken them to the reality of lawn maintenance.

It would be a hot day were it not for the nor-easter that whips across the water, ruffles the #Sawtell playing fields and shoots down the Sixteenth Ave wind tunnel to my house. Which, given the way our little boxes made of ticky-tacky are packed with no thought to favourable aspect (plenty of doors and windows, just none that catch the breeze; sun-struck exterior walls upon which you could slap a bit of dough and bake naan bread, etc.), means it _is_ a hot day indoors, so I'm out on the back patio.
